Christmas Cancelled
24/12/09 14:40I woke up this morning to find snow on the ground. It hasn't snowed on Christmas/Christmas Eve here since 1980. On top of that, we're having a BLIZZARD. Holy effing man. I believe that's the first time in my life I've ever heard those conditions here.
The snow is from 4-8 inches in some places. Icicles are hanging off the roof. The trees are weighed down heavily with snow. The news said its the most snow they've ever had in my town on Christmas/Christmas Eve ever.
Out my back door, when I first opened the door, I could see a little bit of pavement. But over the course of an hour the snow has completely covered the front step up to the door about three inches.
My sister called me, she had to go to work in this. She said it was up to her knees. The wind chill tonight is supposed to be below zero.
Needless to say, we won't be having Christmas. At least not until the snow lets up and starts to melt.
It's just amazing. And to think, just last night, there was nothing and it was barely even that cold.
Merry Christmas :)
