Kitchen Cabinet Color Help

I've been wanting to paint my cabinets for awhile now (well they're not "my" cabinets, I'm renting, but the landlord said I could) but I was wondering if it was a good idea.

So, doing some quick Photoshop (yes, my kitchen's a mess and please forgive the crappy lines for the photoshop, I got a little lazy), I did a before and after. Which version do you guys like better, white cabinets or the dark wood cabinets?

I figured the white cabinets would make the kitchen look bigger.

I vote for the darker cabinet shade.

Another vote for the wood - white's a bastard to keep clean and can look dingy after a while.

And I like your kitty. :)
