October 6, 2007: The Saturday Edition

Jes, 23 year old about to be soon graduated college student from Texas. I've done two of these before, at 21 and 22 years old. This Saturday in particular, with a day off, I decided to get my hair cut for the first time in about 7 years. My hair is mid way down my back and I got some bangs.

Oh yeah, there's also some other fan-tab-ulous stuff.

Oh my.


Waking up on a Saturday before noon? Forshame! But, alas, things must be done. Does anyone's morning pic really look particularly...bright and cheery?


What the heck is that, and why did I take it?

Oh! Wait. That's my parent's door, turned sideways. They haven't woken up yet.

Hehheh, I'm embarrassed I forgot what that was. Moving right along.


Break time!


I think about having a chewy granola almond bar thingy.


The dishwasher is done, just as the parents wake up. No pictures of my father stumbling in like a bearded mountain man zombie, however. I thought I'd spare you the horror. ;)


Instead of granola bar I decide on toast and milk.


Settle in to watch some TV. This is on when I turn it on...The Real Orange County. Oookay.


Better yet, how about some Kim Possible?! Yes ma'am.


I hop online to catch up on what happened during the night when I was sleeping. Shameless.


Get dressed and head out to O'Hara. She needs a bath. Still hot though, rraowr.


Here is what I want my hair to look like. This is Allison Sudol, a really good singer. In a band called "A Fine Frenzy"


I pop in some Buffy-ness for the 20 minute ride.


Light still gets me, every time.


Get to the mall and OMG...this is so horrible! They put these up to keep the birds from landing on the soda machine. I thought for the longest time that the ivory stuff was bird skeletons but it turns out it's just glue from where the thing fell over.


Arrive at Mastercuts. Everybody wants their hair cut too, including my friend Kim who came with me. We wait about 10 minutes.


Before. With curly hair. Meh.


My stylist's name is Katie. Katie doing the hair washing. That thing hurts your neck.


About to get haircut. I is scared.


After! I had her straighten it instead of going curly cause I didn't want to have to wait for it to dry.


Afterward Kim and I go to Dillards. She buys me lipstick! I am so excited! And you get this...bag thing with stuff in it as a gift purchase...she gives me that too!

She is the bestest. We're going to be roommates next year.


Does this honestly sound like an appealing name for a perfume? Is the other one "Psychopathic Killer, a fragrance for Men?"


We go to the shoe store. Kim buys these shoes for Halloween. She is going to be an empress.


Hallo Kim! She just came back in August from a 2 month stay in China. The lady behind her is like 'aroo?' and the one behind her is like 'grrr'


The boots I thought about getting. I might still get them.


The shoes I really did get.


The saleslady who helped us. When we came in there was about four cops here and a security guard and the saleslady told us that someone got denied their credit card and then just walked out with the shoes instead of paying for them. They must not have had their smart flakes this morning.

I would've taken a picture of the cops but I didn't want to go to jail.


Next we go to the Parkway Grill. I'd never been there. I soon realized why.


I got a bacon cheeseburger and fries. It was good. But it was game time so Kim and I spent an hour listening to "OHHH!" every time there was a touchdown. It was funny.


After that is the $2 movie theater. We go to see Harry Potter. We've both seen it, though the last time Kim did it was in Chinese.


Kim suggests we go to Ihop for dessert. I think this is a fabulous idea.


Kim orders a sundae. I get jealous because hers comes first and I want it. She takes pictures of it too with her new Blackberry (which is red so we call it a 'Cranberry').

And our server had the same name as me too, yay!


I order this little dish of awesomeness: A Caramel Banana Cheesecake. A la mode. The ice cream comes free cause our server is awesome too.

Kim and I part ways and I head home to show my parents the new hair. My mom "ooohs" and "ahhhs." My dad is like "Looks good."


I get on the comp and try to make a webcam recording for the new hair. It works but I can't get it to upload. Still can't. Ah well.


I see what my hair looks like up in a pony tail, then take out my contacts.


I are serious cat. This are serious thread.

My new emo glasses.


Decide to try on my Batgirl Halloween costume...with a few mishaps.


Nananananana...BATGIRL!


Log on to the computer for awhile. I get bored so I decide to watch...


PUPPETS! I love Jeff Dunham. Then I get tired and decide to wind down for the night. I change into my jammies.


Toothbrushing is a messy business.



Bed before 2 am...I feel so old.
