Okay, I'm awake...(sorta)
7/3/02 18:49Today was one of the worser days I've had of my teenage life. I got in my first two person car accident. I was hit by a car. It's totalled. You can call the front fender aluminum foil and can no longer see the light or blinker light anymore. It was almost like it didn't exist under the crunched metal.
And I have an English paper due tomorrow.
I've been in the ER since 10 am this morning. I finally got out at 5 pm. I got x-rays and other fun stuff. The majority of my visit was waiting . I also got put on pain pills and all this other stuff. Gawd, the experience was so scary.
It was like...you're driving, minding your own business, and then BOOM, you feel the crunch of metal against metal and then pain in your chest from your seatbelt. It's like slow motion. What was once one little truck got suddenly bigger. I couldn't get out of the way.
I crashed outside this little coffee shop at about 7:57 am this morning. I love southern hospitality. There are very nice people in small towns (and no, I'm not speaking sarcastically). Everyone poured out of the coffee shop and I got helped inside by an old lady. From there I called the secretary at my school, and I was so upset another lady had to tell her for me.
I don't even remember how many times I was offered a drink or asked if I was alright.
One of the funnier instances was whenever someone came in while I was waiting for my dad to pick me up and for the car to be towed away, he asked why I had an ice pack on my leg (I had a leg wound where something from the car stabbed into my leg). I was like: "I got hit by a car." they actally thought I got REALLY hit (like not in a car getting hit by one) until I had to explain it to them. That was one of the funnier instances.
One of the scarier ones was when someone said if I hadn't had my seatbelt on I'd have been thrown through the windshield. Oh man, a shudder ran up my spine.
I get a new car, though. My old one is so totalled. It's unrepairable.
I kind of forgot what else I was going to say.
Oh yeah. I'm sooooo worried and upset. I won't be able to finish my paper. I'm on some pain medication right now so I'm getting kinda woozy. I tried to e-mail the teacher and ask for an extension but I think she's mad at me. We had since January to work on it. Oh gawd, I must have cried for an hour because of that one.
I don't want to fail English. Please don't let me fail English. She used to like me, love me, but now I'm probably her worse student. Oh man oh man oh man. I feel so guilty.
:( Great, I feel bad, worse than before.
